DETACHMENT
Ever since the new job started, existing friendships, relationships and the rest of my life seem to have taken a back seat. Suddenly, I realized that to make it happen, there was a lot more I had to learn, a lot more I had to adopt and a lot more I had to do. But over time, I'm enjoying what I do, I'm enjoying who I'm becoming.
People may ask why I've become so detached, so aloof - its for the better I say. Learnings from the Geeta state that detachment is the key to progression, to enlightenment and to happiness - and it certainly seems to be working. No longer am I worried if I'm not invited to that party, not a part of that meeting, not remembered, not mentioned or not cared about. I am enjoying life the way I want to enjoy life. No longer am I being materialistic about my wants, no longer am I fighting to fulfil my desires. What I am doing, however, is trying to fulfil my basic needs - in order to sustain my lifestyle, search for my new love - my identity.
